ime Spiral was a set that was all about flashbacks. Sure, they came literally, but they also came on many of the cards, referencing old favorites and connecting corny inside jokes. I loved the set, both for its awesome Limited environment as well as all the references I was able to enjoy. But one thing that also excited me about Time Spiral was the new and unique cards—most of which would come in Future Sight—but could be found throughout the block. Radha, Heir to Keld was one of these cards for me. It felt so cool and I just wanted to figure out the best way possible to abuse it!
Flash forward some six years or so, and I can officially tell you I was never able to break it. Constructed just never had the right environment to test her out, and even with the buff she got from the loss of Mana Burn, I could never manage to fit her in anywhere. But apparently I was looking in the wrong place, as over at StarCityGames.com, Sean McKeown broke down the legend as a commander for the format with the same name.
In Commander, with a much more forgiving metagame, you can abuse Radha starting as soon as turn three, due to her popping out of the command zone. There are activated abilities to be used and creatures with flash to be played. Even the old-fashioned instant has been spotted. While the deck shows off a lot of red's and green's powerhouse cards, there are plenty of fun elusive stuff too, such as Lurking Predators. If you fancy the Gruul guild and are looking to show support, I think Radha would appreciate the gesture!
