his deck has the dubious honor of containing the worst card this week.
Adam Breeden took second place at a 185-player PTQ in London with multiple cards that often don't make the cut in Gatecrash draft decks.
This is not to knock his choices. Corpse Blockade is definitely fabulous against the wide variety of 3/3 creatures the aggressive decks are playing, and it offers a durable sacrifice outlet that's both on color and on tribe.
Shadow Alley Denizen is another unconventional choice, but when Corpse Blockade and Gravecrawler can let you cast as many black creatures as you want, giving all your creatures intimidate can be a great way to get through opposing Thragtusks.
I may sound like I'm giving Adam a hard time, but I honestly like this deck. It looks excellent at killing the opponent with Diregraf Captain and Blood Artist by sacrificing Zombies, particularly undying ones like Butcher Ghoul and Geralf's Messenger, and it also looks great at activating Skirsdag High Priest, which is something I always love to do.
The unconventional card choices only speak to Adam's creativity and willingness to capitalize on his synergies and push his game plan over playing more individually powerful cards.
Kudos to Adam on the unique build and excellent finish.
