Guildmages

The letter T!oday's deck, played by mtgo4macplz, is definitely my kind of deck. In addition to the newly printed Voice of Resurgence and Ready & Willing, this deck uses both Korozda Guildmage and Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage, which have not seen much play since their printing in Return to Ravnica.

Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage is greatly improved by Voice of Resurgence, which offers an amazing token at an excellent rate. Korozda Guildmage is very clever with Blood Artist and Lingering Souls as another way to make creatures die and create more tokens. Unfortunately, the Elemental token can't be sacrificed, but all the tokens Korozda Guildmage can make will make it huge, and giving it intimidate can make it lethal.

Trostani, Selesnya's Voice offers another way to populate the Elemental token and gain huge amounts of life, giving the deck more time to take over with Guildmages.

The most surprising thing to me is the extremely low land count of twenty-two, with so many different ways to use mana every turn, between the Guildmages; Gavony Township; and Trostani, Selesnya's Voice. The spells are cheap, so the deck can operate off a low number of lands, but with so many ways to use mana, it looks like it's almost always happy to have a land to put into play. Avacyn's Pilgrim helps, but I'd still want some more.

On what might be a more casual note, I'd love to see Death's Presence in this deck, with Korozda Guildmage, to really go crazy.
