The letter P!auper is a very fun format . For those who haven't had the pleasure, the premise is simple: nothing with a higher rarity than common is legal. Granted, that means common in any set, so some cards sneak in that used to be uncommons or later became uncommons. I used to play quite a bit of Pauper on Magic Online, and I still peek my head in every now and then to see what the format looks like.

The main reason that deluxeicoff's red-green list caught my eye is how simple and streamlined it is. Even in Pauper, there's no shortage of fancy decklists and complicated interactions, from Ghostly Flicker + Mnemonic Wall + Cloud of Faeries to Myr Enforcer + Rush of Knowledge (and many more). It was refreshing to see a deck that is just eight Elves + eight big untargetable guys + ten land-destruction spells + ten burn spells (and a couple River Boas thrown in for good measure).

This is a very honest deck. All it's trying to do is play an Elf into a Stone Rain into a Blastoderm, with judicious use of burn to clear the way. It has a few ways to get card advantage between Gruul Guildgate and Firebolt, but it's main source is going to be virtual. Opponents can't cast spells if they don't have lands, after all.

I'd highly recommend Pauper, as it's easy to get into, with most commons being, well, common, and a fun format to explore. Some of the older commons are hard to find, in large part due to the popularity of the format, but there are plenty of decks that you can assemble without too much trouble
