All That Glitters

The letter I! wish I got to play more Modern, partially because of decks like this. Not only does this deck have the Kavu Predator/Fiery Justice combo, an extensive Glittering Wish toolbox means that it's ready for just about anything. It's actually playing the full fifteen one-ofs in the sideboard, giving you the maximum amount of options for when you cast Wish.

Just because this deck has Wishes doesn't necessarily make it a control deck, although judging by the previous cycle of Wishes that would have been a reasonable guess. In addition to the four Kavu Predators, this deck has four Deathrite Shamans to accelerate out Loxodon Smiters and Planeswalkers, as well as a Batterskull for value. With so many threats, I'd say this deck falls squarely into the midrange camp. It can attack, and with Kavu Predator into Fiery Justice, those attacks will be large, but it also looks to disrupt and control the opponent rather than just go for pure speed.

Speaking of disruption, the four Inquisition of Kozileks let you plan out your game, leading to casting Glittering Wish in anticipation of the opponent's next play. Lightning Bolt and Lightning Helix play double duty, removing the opponent's creatures while threatening to go to the face if some Smiting has already occurred.

The sideboard here is a work of art. There are multiple ways to get rid of permanents, covering not only every type but different situations where you might need to exile, want to get value, etc. There is also lifegain, Slaughter Games, Gaddock Teeg, and Wheel of Sun and Moon for maximum disruption. If you stumble across any other awesome gold cards, there's no harm in making a couple swaps, and I might add a couple Grove of the Burnwillows to the main deck for extra Kavu Predator combo action.
