Elves are many Magic players' favorite tribe, but their fragility traditionally keeps them out of the Commander arena. Nothing makes the life of an elf harder than countless board sweepers and accelerated monsters thrown down by five other players! Still, that didn't stop Commander deck doctor Sean McKeown. When a reader wrote in with an Ezuri Commander deck, Sean was up for the challenge.
By tweaking the deck and moving it away from the swarm strategy so many elf players try to employ, Sean helped make this deck a little more multiplayer friendly. Dealing 40 damage to multiple players quickly is a doomed strategy for Commander, and so by tweaking the deck to play for the long game instead of exploding at the start, Sean crafted something better tuned to your average Commander group.
This deck slowly builds up, accruing small advantages with a bunch of 1/1s. But as the game draws on, it positions itself to have plenty of gas left for the late game. After everyone else has thrown around resources battling each other's monstrous threats, your elves will be in the perfect position to strike!
