Wizards of the Coast, Inc. returns to Indianapolis to participate as an official Co-Sponsor of Gen Con and Sponsor of True Dungeon!

A full slate of seminars and events is on the schedule for 2008. Stop by the booth for demos of D&Di and a sneak peek of new art from the Magic: The Gathering Shards of Alara. There will be artist and author signings throughout the con as well as 4 booth prize drawings daily, promotional giveaways and, while supplies last, the MTG From the Vault: Dragons** limited edition card box!

**From the Vault: Dragons will go on sale every morning at 11:00 am. Only 100 units will be sold each day. Limit is one per person for the duration of the show. Your badge will be marked to show you have purchased your copy.

An alternate paint Drow Demonbinder is the Gen Con 2008 mini!

Celebrate 20 years of Drizzt!

It is hard to believe, but the popular drow ranger Drizzt has been entertaining readers and fans of the Forgotten Realms for 20 years. R.A. Salvatore will be on hand for autographs in the booth, the Sagamore Ballroom, and author’s alley. Be sure to pick up a sample chapter of the next installment of the Transitions trilogy – The Pirate King!






Also on hand will be the Geno Salvatore, signing copies of The Stowaway co-authored with his New York Times bestselling father, and Forgotten Realms creator and fan favorite Ed Greenwood.

Artist Signings

Get your Magic cards signed by popular artists – Tom Baxa and Scott Altmann. They will be in the booth and in the tournament area in Hall G all weekend.

Secrets of Eberron
Participate in an open discussion with Keith Baker and members of WotC's R&D department to find out what's next for the exciting world of the Eberron campaign setting and D&D 4th Edition. Product previews, humorous stories, and flowing ideas are only a few of the things we have planned to share with you.

Friday 10-12 Noon
4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons Q&A
Learn all about the new D&D 4th Edition and upcoming D&D products. Here's your chance to ask questions and provide feedback to members of WotC's R&D department. Discuss new product ideas, share what you think about the new edition, and help R&D plan the future of the original roleplaying game! This seminar is also conducted Saturday, 4-6 pm.

Join members of WotC's R&D department and select authors to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Drizzt and discuss the future of the Forgotten Realms world. Learn about upcoming novels and products, ask questions, provide feedback, and discover something new about the world of Faerun, Living Forgotten Realms, and 4th Edition D&D.

Spin a Yarn with Ed Greenwood
Here's your chance to co-author a story with Ed Greenwood, creator of the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. Bring your best—and worst—ideas. This hilarious interactive seminar results in a new Forgotten Realms story that will be posted at www.wizards.com for everyone to share.

From the Mind of R.A. Salvatore
Spend some time with R.A. Salvatore, creator and chronicler of Drizzt Do’urden, as he tells amazing stories, shares surprising secrets, and answers your questions about Drizzt, the Forgotten Realms, and his other works of fantasy. Part of the 20th Anniversary of Drizzt celebration!

Join R.A. Salvatore and Wizards of the Coast as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Legend of Drizzt! The party will be held at The Ram. We’ll have Drizzt themed snacks and beverages available on a first come first serve basis. Don’t miss your chance to meet R.A. Salvatore!

RPGA

New edition, new campaign! Gen Con Indy 2008 is the place to be for the launch of the Living Forgotten Realms campaign, as well as the D&D Championship! There are 8 different adventures premiering at Gen Con Indy for Living Forgotten Realms, and we’ll have a character creation station set up to help you make your first character. Join us in the Sagamore ballroom for a great weekend of 4th Edition fun! Highlights include:

Living Forgotten Realms Special (2 Rounds) – All Weekend

CORE-S1 Shades of the Zhentarim: Zhentil Keep is a city with a storied history, even if most of the tale is not fit for innocent ears. A mission to find the wayward son of a wealthy merchant leads deep into the secrets, deceptions, and brutal power on which the dreaded Zhentarim built their ominous keep. D&D Classic Championship – All Weekend

In Fear No More: The cunning and ruthless Empire of the Crimson Light, under the brazen leadership of his Celestial Magesty, The Eternal Emperor, has crossed the Soulless Sea and conquered the quaint kingdom of Aeris. The Emperor's heavy-handedness has seeded a growing rebellion, but the rebels do not stand a chance against the robust forces from across the sea in a pitched battle. Instead, they look to a small band of local heroes to rise with them and behead the constricting imperial serpent before their hope is extinguished forever. This is a Classic-style 4th Edition adventure with characters provided, with team advancement from the first round to semi-final and final rounds. The D&D Championship Series uses 5 player tables. D&D Dungeon Delve – All Weekend

Magic: The Gathering Elder Dragon Highlander – 10 PM Each Night

Elder Dragon Highlander Format Not Sanctioned. Play with Judges and Wizards of the Coast Staff. Play in equal pods. Last man standing. $10 entry fee.

Magic: The Gathering Block Championship! – Thursday, August 14 – 6 PM

Block Format using cards solely from the Lorwyn and Shadowmoor Blocks. Players will play a number of Swiss rounds based on attendance, with a cut to a Top 8. Prizes are amazing for this event - including multiple FOIL SETS from the current block. $20 entry fee.

Magic: The Gathering Legacy Championship! – Friday, August 15 – 10 AM

Legacy Format. Swiss rounds based on attendance plus single-elimination Top 8. Winner receives incredible prizes based on the Legacy Format including a play set of Dual Lands! Second receives one set of Dual Lands - going to be huge!! $20 entry fee.

Magic: The Gathering Grand Melee – Friday, August 15 – 1 PM

Everyone is a winner – Play in this event and receive a special, limited 2008 Grand Melee high quality playmat. Standard Format, Grand Melee style! Attack to your left, defend on your right. Last Man Standing wins! $16 entry fee.

Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour Berlin Qualifier – Friday, August 15 – 6 PM

Block Format. Players compete playing with Lorwyn and Shadowmoor blocks only constructed decks. Winner receives an invitation to Pro Tour-Berlin and a Travel Reward. Swiss rounds based on attendance plus single-elimination Top 8. $24 entry fee.

Magic: The Gathering Mega Friday Night Magic – Friday, August 15 – 8 PM

Standard Format. Three Swiss rounds. Everyone will receive a pack of previously released FNM Cards. 3-0 will receive the new FNM card. $10 entry fee.

Magic: The Gathering Draft Championship! – Saturday, August 16 – 10 AM

Drafts Galore. Every player will draft THREE times in drafts of TimeSpiral, Lorwyn, and Shadowmoor drafts - you get 9 packs! Swiss Rounds with a cut to Top-8. $36 entry fee.

Magic The Gathering Urza's Block Sealed Deck Tournament – Sunday, August 17 – 10 AM

Sealed Deck Tournament using Sealed Urza's Saga, Legacy and Destiny. Limited to 32 players. Five rounds of Swiss, no cut to top 8. Prizes based on participation and record. $50 entry fee.

Tractor Beam Coupling Map (Death Star), Grand Plaza Map (Moonilist), Rancor Pen Map, Hall of Judgement Map (Jedi Temple), Commanders Office Map (Ravaged Base), and Power Regulation Chamber Map (Revenge of the Sith Starter Hardboard) and The Chancellors Starship Map.
