Ask the Pros

Thursday, November 14, 2002

Ever wonder what it's like playing on camera in Top 8 of a Pro Tour? Curious about the origins of a word like "mise"? Interested in learning more about how a major team prepares for a tournament, or what the pro players think about the metagame? Just ask them!

Welcome to the latest daily feature on It was inspired by the successful "Ask Wizards" feature on our sister site, Here's your chance to pick the brains of personalities who shape the Pro Tour circuit:

  • Pro players
  • World's top judges
  • Pro Tour staff
  • Sideboard and other writers

We will post one question (and one or more answers to it) every day. Here are a few guidelines to help make sure that the question you submit is chosen and will be answered:

  • Make it interesting. The most important guideline is to make sure that you ask an engaging question that will be of interest to our readers.
  • Keep it general. Although we will definitely try to get questions directed to a specific person answered, preference will be given to questions that can be answered by more than one individual.
  • Do not send deck lists for critique or otherwise ask for personal/direct answers.

Here are a few sample questions we are going to kick off with early next week:

  • Now that Pro Tour-Houston is over, if you had to ban one card in Extended what would it be?
  • What is the best Standard deck right now?
  • What common card do you most want to open in Onslaught draft?

Tune in next week to find out the answers, or send your own questions by filling out the web form below.

Form removed. Thanks for participting!
